Microsoft turned Live Mesh Tech Preview online yesterday. Live Mech is the newest member to the Live services from Microsoft, Live Mesh is a platform to help bring all you devices together and givesyou access to your information from anywhere. To sum up the features:
- All your devices workting together - synchronize information
- Access from anywhere - Live Desktop with 5GB of free storage
- Simple to share - Share a folder (photo or files) with family or friends
- Stay informed - See the online status of friends, updated files/devices etc.
- Protection you know - Access protected by your Live ID and SSL transfers
It doesn’t sound like the big news, it sounds more like a new version of FolderShare, but this new platform brings moreto it, than just the synchronization service.
Scoblizer has summed up all the features pretty good in his recent post, with links to videos of the new features.
Since the service is already full, you can sign up and get on the waiting list here.

Found a great article “Best practices when moving your site” on Google’s Webmaster Central Blog. The article describes what to be aware of, if you need to move a website from one domain to another domain.
Planning on moving your site to a new domain? Lots of webmasters find this a scary process. How do you do it without hurting your site’s performance in Google search results?

It’s always hard as a website admin to continuously measure your site to make sure it performs the best at all times, it’s therefore recommendable to use external tools and services for these measures. Here’s my list of Website Performance Measuring Tools.
- Keynote - Awesome service and features, but more expensive
- Webperform - Nice features and basic monitoring is free (1 website and the diagnostics module)
- IT Scales - Provides the simple needs and a total free service
Ofcourse there might to alot of other services out there providing the same services. The 3 above are some I’ve used and can recommend dependable on the needs.
Anyone known any other great services ?

New video interview on Channel 9 with Scott Gutherie, where he talks about IIS 7 among other things.
In this interview, we covered a lot of ground. Watch and learn about:
- MIX07
- What’s doing on the web technologies front
- What’s so special about IIS 7.0
- Why you should care about Orcas
- What it’s like to go into meetings with executives like Gates, Ballmer, and Ozzie
- How, even with as much status and power Scott has, he still doesn’t have his own parking spot (this made me feel a little better about myself and my lack of accomplishments)
And more, of course.
See the video at Channel 9: Scott Guthrie - MIX07, Work, and Personal Details Revealed.
Google Analytics has left the beta stage and is now available to everyone, without any waiting time for an account.
It’s actually pretty cool, i’ve been running it on my site for about ½ a year by now and it generates some pretty good statistics and reports.
I believe it’s a good alternative to a lot of other statistics products, it might need at few things, you’ll find in some enterprise products - but it’s an online service and it’s free
Google Analytics tells you everything you want to know about how your visitors found you and how they interact with your site. You’ll be able to focus your marketing resources on campaigns and initiatives that deliver ROI, and improve your site to convert more visitors.
Read more at the Google Analytics Blog or just sign up for an account at Google Analytics and test it yourself
